States: Best Place to get your Higher Education |
According
to recent studies, American universities make up 17 of the Top
20
universities worldwide, and 51 of the Top 100 universities worldwide.
The ranking was based on several factors, among which were academic
achievements such as number of Nobel Prize winners who are alumni
of the university, number of articles published in the most
prestigious of science-related magazines, Nature, and more.
In the United States, Harvard University, in Cambridge, MA,
ranked number one,
with a total score of 100 points. The second place went to Stanford
University in
California, with a total score of 77.7 points. Other American
universities on the list include Princeton, Berkeley, Yale and
the University of Chicago. Of the top 20, only three are not
American: Cambridge University (position 3) and Oxford University
(position 8), both in the United Kingdom, and Tokyo University
(position 14).

United States Green Card Lottery Program DV-2006
Overview |
The US Green
Card Lottery Program for the year 2004, officially called ‘DV-2006’,
is well on its way. The submission period has ended on January
6th and The Kentucky Consular Center is expected to begin the
lottery itself around the end of March and beginning of April.
Winners will be selected by a random computer drawing. 50,000
lucky applicants will receive a green card and will be able
to move to the US and live,
work and study there freely. Each winner will be notified by
mail by the US Department of State to the address posted on
their application. The notification letter will also include
further instructions on how to proceed with receiving the green
card.
However, it’s important to remember that people who did
not win will not be notified. Therefore, if one receives nothing
by July or August at the latest, he or she will know that, unfortunately,
they did not win.
